Comic Con

My goal was to paint fantasy characters from comic books, pop culture, and video games in a unique way.  A lot of the artists at Comic Cons use a similar style, so I applied Japanese Inkbrush with its expressive strokes and minimal detail.  Having lived abroad, I'm always combining art styles from around the work and this was a fusion of Western and Japanese illustration. 

I also try to include a message behind the piece, choosing pop culture characters that I resonate with.  Caring for the environment, female empowerment, and mythological symbolism.  People who bought these paintings fell in love with them, and it was like nothing they had seen.
